High Schools: Gateway boys soccer shuts out Hopkins, 3-0

Take a look at the scoresheet from Gateway’s 3-0 win over Hopkins, and you might think you have double vision. Or triple vision.
Eli, Ivan and Andrew Chepurenko all scored for the Gators, with Andrew’s goal coming from an Ivan assist. The Gators took a 2-0 lead at the half and expanded on it in the second half to win 3-0 in a Schmid showdown Thursday afternoon. Gateway improves to 2-4-1, while Hopkins drops to 2-4-1.
Last time the Gators and the Golden Hawks faced off, a 2-2 draw on Oct. 16 of last year, Eli and Ivan both scored. So far this season, Ivan has four goals and four assists, Eli has three goals and Andrew has one.
Gateway is in action next at Granby on Monday at 4 p.m. Hopkins hosts Franklin Tech on Friday at 4 p.m.
Granby 3, Greenfield 0 – The Rams moved to 5-2-1 with a home victory Thursday. Riley Goodhind scored and added an assist and Gavin Moreno and Tristan Moe also scored. Daniel Santiago made four saves in goal.
South Hadley 7, Southwick 0 – Carlos David and Matt Gillis recorded two goals and two assists each and Nolan Masse also scored a pair. Brady Graham scored once and Jack Chagnon, Ari Alatalo and Ben Gillis added assists.
Sci-Tech 2, Smith Academy 1 – Matt Scagel scored a game-tying free kick in the 71st minute, but seven minutes later, Sci-Tech retook the lead to drop the Falcons to 6-2. Jake Wilcox made five saves for Smith Academy.
Hampshire 162, Monson 183 – The Raiders improved to 12-2 behind another low score from Brayden Fennessy, who shot a 38 at Quaboag Country Club Thursday afternoon. Riley Florek was one stroke behind (39), and Cam Jarosz (41) and Ashton Lashway (44) also scored.

PV Christian 3, Easthampton 1 – The Eagles lost at home 13-25, 14-25, 25-23, 25-16. Lidie Buttrick led Easthampton with seven kills, Brooke Skowron tallied eight assists, Summer Routheir added seven more and Addison Sigda recorded 12 digs.

Belchertown 3, Monument Mountain 1 — Ian McDonald tallied a goal and an assist while Chase Connor and Tyler Burrows each found the back of the net to pace the Orioles to victory on Wednesday.
Joseph Yoon and Kamden Houle added assists for Belchertown, and Jack Mandeville stopped an impressive eight shots in the win.
