The recent onslaught of actions taken by our new administration is calling to mind the regrettably prescient quote by Martin Niemoller. With apologies to the Rev. Niemoller, I offer an update:

First they came for the new immigrants, but I did not speak out, because I am not a new immigrant. Then they came for the veterans, but I did not speak out, because I am not a veteran. They they came for the poor and infirm, but I did not speak out, because I am not poor or infirm. Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me.

Has anyone checked which page of the Project 2025 document they are on? Perhaps we can look ahead to anticipate who’s next.
