Parents, grandparents, family all help to defray the cost of approximately $200 for cleats, uniform and etc. for football players at Easthampton High. Additionally, players are ask to sell 15 gift cards at $10 each to raise $150.

Team bonding at Paisano’s in Southampton each Tuesday night at $12, paid by each player. Concession stand profits after expenses. School superintendent and athletic director salaries, which are paid by Easthampton taxpayers.

Now for the insult to injury. The athletic department has the unmitigated gall to charge $5 for adults and $3 for children to attend games, including the visitor’s family and friends, some of whom are on fixed incomes or disabled, such as myself, a combat Viet Nam veteran, recipient of a Purple Heart. Is not my blood and all others’ hard work nothing? Have you no shame? What’s next, parking fees?
