The effort to remove Israeli products from the shelves at the River Valley Co-op makes as much sense to me as supporting a boycott against American-made goods if Donald Trump gets elected as president and announces a policy that we might find repulsive. And why not call for a boycott against Lebanese-made goods as a protest against the Lebanon-based missiles launched to kill innocent Israelis in northern Israel?

The problem in Israel is Benjamin Netanyahu and his government, not the Israeli businesses who do not determine Israeli policy. As a co-op member, I’ve voted against the boycott effort and hope that my fellow board members and co-op management strongly agree. Let’s let common sense and decency guide this unnecessary debate.
