Pam Hyjek: Just close the downtown

The past several weeks of having Market Street in Northampton virtually closed down due to the work being done on the gas and water lines has been wonderful.

Think of all the money the city would save and then be able to fully fund the schools ... All we need is a little tweaking to divert traffic around the downtown and out of town.

Think of breathing cleaner air. Think of enjoying a safe walk or wheelchair or bike ride!

Think of having a much safer neighborhood for your children and pets.
