The Broad Brook Coalition board of directors would like to thank the many firefighters whose quick work helped contain the brush fire that broke out recently in the Fitzgerald Lake Conservation Area. Given the dry weather and warm conditions, this fire could have done considerable damage if it hadn’t been extinguished promptly.

As volunteer managers of this conservation area, we are grateful to the firefighters from Northampton Fire Rescue and neighboring communities, as well as the helicopter crews from the Massachusetts Air National Guard for their rapid response. Thank you, all!
