SPRINGFIELD — Market Mentors, LLC, a marketing, advertising and public relations agency, recently welcomed Christina Hager of Granby to its team as a public relations account executive.
The two-time New England Emmy Award-winning television journalist recently wrapped a 25-year career with WBZ-TV (CBS Boston). In her new role at Market Mentors, she works with the marketing team to plan and execute communications strategies with a focus on media relations. This includes writing and distributing news releases, pitching story ideas, responding to media queries, preparing statements and developing content across various media platforms.
Hager, who recently relocated from Holliston to Granby, earned her bachelor’s degree from Colby College in Maine and her master’s degree from Northwestern University, Medill School of Journalism, in Illinois. She is a member of the Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE).
AMHERST — Amber Martin, Amherst’s assistant town clerk, recently achieved the Certified Municipal Clerk designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
The organization grants the designation only to those municipal clerks who complete demanding education requirements and who have a record of significant contributions to their local government, their community, and state.
Martin began her career in the Amherst Clerk’s office in 2019 as the management assistant. Once hired as the assistant town clerk in 2021, she began her pursuit for the CMC designation.
The International Institute of Municipal Clerks, established in 1947, is a professional, nonprofit association that promotes the continuing education and professional development of Municipal Clerks through various programs and services. The IIMC has a membership of over 14,000 municipal clerks, representing cities and towns of all sizes from all 50 U.S. states, Canada, and 15 other countries.
HOLYOKE — Cataldo Ambulance Service has opened a new ambulance base in Holyoke at 1280 Dwight St.

HOLYOKE — Hyundai Hope on Wheels on Monday presented a $10,000 check to the Ronald McDonald House of Springfield.
Gary Rome, the eastern region board member of Hyundai Hope on Wheels, presented the money for the House’s Trees of Hope event. Each year, Trees of Hope is held at Gary Rome Hyundai and the dealership’s showroom is transformed into a winter wonderland during the first two weeks of November. The event features creative holiday trees, dream gifts, and displays that are donated by local businesses, individuals, and community organizations. There is no entry fee to view the displays, and each one is raffled off using an online system that allows people to participate both in person and virtually.
Now in its 33rd year, the Ronald McDonald House of Springfield provides the critical link that brings together specialized medical treatment and the children who desperately need it. By providing lodging for families, RMH makes it possible for children to access essential medical care.
SPRINGFIELD — Freedom Credit Union annual campaign for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts extended over three months this summer, raising enough to cover the cost of more than 10,000 meals.
The credit union collected donations of cash, nonperishable food and personal care items at all its branches, raising a total of more than $3,350. For every dollar donated, the Food Bank can provide three meals. In addition, food donations weighed in at nearly 1,435 pounds, and were delivered to the Gray House, a member organization benefiting from the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. That amounts to another 1,195 meals.
