PELHAM — As has become custom in Pelham, no contested elections are on the ballot for the May 16 town election, with some positions possibly to be filled via write-in votes.
Polls will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ramsdell Room at the Pelham Library.
This is the seventh year in a row where incumbents and newcomers on the annual election ballot are running unopposed. Pelham last had a contest when two residents squared off for the one-year position as moderator in 2016.
Those on the ballot include Select Board incumbent Tara A. Loomis of Gulf Road, School Committee incumbent Sarahbess Kenney of Meeting House Road, Board of Health incumbent Melissa A. Nazzaro of Daniel Shays Highway, library trustee incumbent Diane Gray of Buffam Road and Board of Assessors incumbent William S. Collins of Arnold Road. All are seeking three-year terms.
They are joined on the ballot by Richard T. Fanning of Amherst Road, who is seeking the other three-year School Committee position available, and Robert J. Graves of North Valley Road, who is seeking the other three-year seat as a library trustee.
Positions with no names on the ballot include a two-year position on the School Committee, a five-year seat on the Planning Board, a three-year seat on the Cemetery Commission and one-year positions as moderator and auditor.
