NORTH ANDOVER — It only took a handful of regular season dual meets for Amherst Regional track and field coach Chris Gould to realize just how special his ‘Canes girls team could be in 2025. After blowing out teams throughout the spring, including rival Northampton in early May, Gould tabbed this Amherst girls squad as the program’s “best team ever.”

Day 1 of the MIAA Division 6 Outdoor Track & Field Championships was pleasant to Hampshire County participants, as a couple of local athletes earned state titles in their respective events at Tufts University in Medford on Friday evening.

WILLIAMSTOWN — Conditions were less-than-ideal at the Western Massachusetts Div. 2 Track and Field Championship on Saturday at Mount Greylock Regional High School, but Hampshire County athletes persevered and shined through the heavy fog, clouds and occasional rain to turn in some terrific performances.

AMHERST — Throughout the entire spring season, the Amherst Regional track and field programs have had to hit the road for all of their dual meets. The track at the high school doesn’t meet the standards to host competition, as runners are forced to avoid small cracks and holes in the surface.

NORTHAMPTON — It has been quite the spring season for the Amherst Regional girls track and field team, and Wednesday added to the Hurricanes’ undefeated campaign. Both the Amherst girls and boys defeated Northampton behind terrific performances both on the track and in the field. The Amherst girls won by a score of 103-33.
Members of the Amherst Regional indoor track and field team earned the opportunity of a lifetime thanks to strong showings throughout the season, as a handful of ‘Canes competed in the New Balance Nationals in Boston over the weekend.
Several Amherst Regional indoor track and field athletes kicked off what is to be a busy weekend for the Hurricanes on Thursday and Friday afternoon at New Balance Nationals in Boston.

BOSTON — The Amherst Regional girls 4x400-meter relay team will go down in history as one of the best units western Massachusetts has ever seen.
The MIAA Division 5 Indoor Track & Field Championships took place Monday afternoon at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, after inclement weather postponed the initial meet that was scheduled for Sunday.
